October 2011....just 2 more months for the New Year to dawn on us. October has been a month of highs & lows. At work, my class is functioning smoothly (Knock on wood) and I hope it continues that way. A colleague who is a dear friend as well quit under very tough circumstances. I miss you, T.
On the home front, I lost a very dear aunt(technically my sister-in-law). I did not know my aunt was very sick. She had been having trouble with her health in the last 2 months. On October 5, 2011 I received the news that my aunt had passed away. It has been very hard since I heard the news. My aunt had been a big part of my life. I have gone shopping with her, spent a lot of time with her when I was in college. She was also a big part of my wedding. K came to see me at my aunt's place and our wedding was fixed. Whenever she made my favorite dishes, she would always send me some. She always put others' needs before her own.
I wish, hope and pray for her family to heal from this loss.

Summer 2011
The Summer of 2011 has been a very thought provoking one for me. This year was my first summer working Summer Camp at my current job. Working during the summer is so different - schedules are changing ever so often, we get to work with colleagues with whom we never get to work during the regular school year. Anyways the reason for this post is this 1 woman who has been such a pain in the back side.
Normally I think I am very patient & tolerant. But this 1 person has started to bring out the evil in me.
I am amazed at how she thinks - it is her way or the high way, she refuses to see another person's point of view, she thinks everyone should cater to her schedules. To add to my woes this person has moved very close to where I live - too close. I had such a hard time letting her know that I was not interested in spending my 3 week summer break entertaining her. Sorry if this post has been all about me venting out my frustration. I don't like people who have tunnel vision, who uses office resources for their personal use, who think they are fun but they actually are not. I sincerely hope she reads this post and gets the message and never bothers me again.
I am excited and nervous for the new school year. I will be the Lead Teacher in a new class in September with 2 interns. It is going to be a lot of responsibility. The class I am moving in to has had a lot of problems this past year. I hope and pray that the new school year will be good. I hope the class settles down and that I am able to meet all expectations.

Summer 2011
It is summer now. The weather is hot & humid. The fireflies are out & people are out getting their dose of Vitamin D. Blogging has become so difficult now. I never make the time to write.
It has been 1 year since I started working here in the USA. It was an interesting year - I learned a lot about culture, new ideas for lessons for the kids....Every morning as I walk to work I am grateful for the life I lead, my job, my family & loved ones. Come September I will be in a new class with 2 interns & a lot of responsibility on my shoulders. I have been given the opportunity to attend a workshop on Montessori Applied to Children at Risk at Dallas this summer.
